How do I insert the customer's first name into an email?

Choose the section of text where you would like to insert the first name. Click "Edit" and at the top right of the edit are you will see an "Insert" dropdown. All of your Information Types will exist in that dropdown. Select first name from the dropdown and a piece the piece of text *|FNAME|* will be inserted into your email. When the campaign is sent this will get replaced by the first name of the customer.

Below the editor window you will see the "Dynamic Content" box. Select which information type you would like to insert into the email. Then simply copy the tag in the "Copy this tag" text box into the email. If you select first name then when the campaign is sent this will get replaced by the first name of the customer.
Please note that if you use dynamic content in an email campaign you will need to set up alternatives in the settings page. If for example one of your contacts does not contain a first name, the alternative will be used in its place. For example you could use "Shopper" which so if you had "Dear *|FNAME|*," in your email where a contact doesn’t have a first name it would be appear "Dear Shopper,".
